RJ, this was shot in Red Hook at the back of the Fairway. I shot it with my D700 and the Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8D at 35mm. The settings were a bit crazy: f/22, 1/3200 sec, ISO 800, EV -2.66.

Joe – thank you so much for your response – i am utterly mesmerized by this photo! the settings are dfintekly not what i would have expected – but really interesting to know so thank you for sharing! have you considered putting A, shutter, ISO up for your shots? it always intrigues me!
I had absolutely no reason to shoot this particular image at the odd settings of ISO 800 and 1/3200 second, but the ISO had been set high for a lot of what I had been shooting moments earlier — darker scenes that didn’t include the bright sky. f/22 was also unnecessary. I’d probably set it at f/8 for maximum sharpness, because I don’t need depth of field when everything is at infinity…
I’d include EXIF data in more of my posts, but it’s a pain to copy and include. I can’t find a way to automate it.

Neato! I love when the settings are accidentally wacky from another shot and you end up with something surprisingly special.
